I of course cannot comment on the true box station, since there is microscopic information provided by Amazon on disc details at time of writing (early July 2008) .

However, this was one of my well-liked shows when it was on in the gradual 90’s (I cannot contain it’s been 10 years already!!!) . And, it is composed in my top 5 of all time to this day.

Why? Well, for one thing, fair gaze what some of the key people alive to have gone on to do after making Sports Night: The West Soar (Creator/Writer/Producer Aaron Sorkin, actor Josh Malina, plus guest spots by many SportsNight regulars), Six Feet Under (Peter Krause), Desperate Housewives (Felicity Huffman) . For each of these pros, ‘Sports Night’ was a key launchpad for the rest of their careers.

(And, of course, the already well-respected Robert Guillaume was a key member of the cast. He suffered a debilitating stroke mid-production and collected gave bravura perfomances on his return.)

This reveal is one of the rarest of TV gems: a comedy that does not pander, that challenges you to hold up. Anyone who regularly watched the first few seasons of ‘The West Wing’ will explore one of Sorkin’s common devices, the fast-talking, no-pauses, walking-down-the-hallway conversation. This contrivance is not to everyone’s taste, but it’s a tall one for the honest actors and writers, and a definite species of TV viewer.

And yet, the exhibit rewards even casual viewers with witty, incisive, insightful commentary and critique of unbiased about everything. It’s unbiased boring comical most of the time.

The tagline was “It’s about sports. The map Charlie’s Angels was about law enforcement”. And that about sums it up. Its focus is on human relationships in that most volatile environment, the workplace.

This workplace objective happens to be an even more of a pressure-cooker than most: a TV studio producing live sports news shows. Assume ‘ESPN SportsCenter’. Yet, it’s not supposed to actually be SportsCenter, since they wisely wink to reality and refer to “Bristol” (the genuine city where ESPN is headquartered) as their competition. I always opinion this was a clever map, since ESPN is a sister company to ABC, the network ‘Sports Night’ ran on. Eveyone else (Fox, CNN, et al) has tried to beat ESPN at its maintain game, and lost, and ‘Sports Night’ keeps that feeling of being a decided underdog.

Though the stakes aren’t as high for the rest of the world, the pressure of the environment to the people in it (and therefore by extension to the viewer) is noteworthy like Sorkin’s ‘West Wing’ — not as many dramatic world crises, but aloof plenty of “must react NOW!!!” raw material that Sorkin and team mine for sublime amusing accomplish.

Yes, it’s droll, very humorous in fact. But what appealed to me most is that quite often Sports Night could be poignant, even at times dramatic. Again, not the faux-gavitas that most sitcoms try to carry out with that corny, “a very special episode of…”, ripe-for-satire phoniness. When there is deep human emotion to be felt, the present portrays it in impartial the lawful quantities. Breakups, lost career opportunities, even some of the ficitious “valid world” storylines have unbiased that powerful more feeling of loyal human emotion than do objective about any other TV comedy, or even many TV dramas. Most of that reality is due to the characters being portrayed as fleshed-out human beings, at least as great as can be done in a 30-minute TV format. They aren’t exactly legal to life, but they aren’t unbiased cardboard cut-outs either. An honorable example is how Robert Guillaume’s real-life stroke, and subsequent return to the demonstrate, was handled onscreen: brilliantly, of course.

In the ruin, if you are like me, you will esteem Sports Night mainly for the charcaters themselves. I really came to like them, a lot. I wanted to know more about them. Even the guest spots were provocative, like Felicity Huffman’s real-life husband, William H. Macy, as a note “fixer”. That’s why the cancellation was so painful for so many. I had to wait another five years for another TV comedy that could rival it — ‘Arrested Development’, another cult fav that was killed too early. I judge if a explain like ‘Sports Night’ was pitched today, it would probably get a comfy home on cable, and live for many seasons. However, it was at least five years ahead of its time for that. And network TV is eminent for handling quality shows badly.

If you watched it while it was on, this box status is a sizable chance to relive its greatness. If you never had the pleasure, please hold the opportunity now to notice something very special.

Writer/creator Aaron Sorkin and director Thomas Schlamme went on to acquire NBC’s “The West Soar” during the second season of this astounding series.

From the beginning, ABC had no clue of how to handle this expose. First, they insisted that the producers ad a laugh track, because you don’t know when to laugh. Then, they started to promote it like a soap opera, because it had serious issues to deal with at times.

Ultimately, the quality of the point to came through. A fantastic cast provided respectable performances. Josh Charles (“A Few Capable Men”, “SWAT”) and Sabrina Lloyd (“Sliders”) are the MVPs here, consistently giving the note it’s heart. Peter Krause (“Six Feet Under”, “Dirty Sexy Money”), initially stiff in his “on air” role as Casey McCall, settled in well mid-first season.

The accurate gem here is Robert Guilamme (“Benson”), his Issac Jaffe is an obedient character brought to life with his gentle touch. Guilamme’s real-life stroke was written into the series, and when he returned in the second season made for some astounding moments and sly dialogue delivered by the faded actor.

Unfortunately, try though they may, Weep! Factory has been unable to provide the option of killing the laugh track in the space. Fortunately, they have provided a colossal recent spot which beats the unique cheap, no-frills status that Disney provided several years ago.

This is a titanic ten disc dwelling showcasing what the History Channel always did best in my understanding – document World War II. I haven’t liked how the History Channel has “mainstreamed” its offerings over the last few years, and thus this area is a proper treat for long time viewers. It’s also broad for your kids to witness if they judge that history is insensible – it will change their minds. The following are the set’s contents:

DISC ONE:

World War II: The War in Europe – Fragment 1

This disc contains four episodes from War Chronicles, a multiple-episode series of war documentaries written and directed by Don Horan, and hosted and narrated by actor Patrick O’Neal. Running about 26 minutes each in length, the episodes included on this disc were produced in 1983 and 1985. They feature no interviews, impartial O’Neal and at times, an anonymous narrator who, inexplicable, drops in additional voice-over material explaining in detailed narration over the graphic archival footage, the various battle campaigns. Stale visual aids are old to highlight the action which at times consist of honest O’Neal, pointing at a device. The episodes included are:

DISC NINE:

Great Blunders of World War II – Allotment 1

This disc contains four, 21 shrimp episodes from The History Channel miniseries, Spacious Blunders of World War II. These compact small docs from 1998 are inspiring looks at the fatal mistakes made by the Axis powers, that aided the Allied victory:

The German Blunder at Dunkirk: The 1940 Blitzkrieg upon Europe drove the British Expeditionary Force into the sea at Dunkirk, but the reckless concept of attack turned the chance to waste the British into history’s greatest flee.

Hitler’s Declaration of War on the U.S.: Even with Hitler’s forces ravaging Europe, America hesitated to join the fight against him. All that changed, however, with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, and a foolish decision by Germany to ally with Japan.

The Pilot who Bombed London: One lost and confused German pilot mistakenly dropped his bombs on London, igniting what became known as the Blitz and pushing Britain’s durability to its furthest limits.

Hitler’s Flying Blunders: The Luftwaffe’s lighting-fast, short-range fighter-bombers were obsolete in aid of highly mobile ground forces, a strategy which ultimately went horribly awry.

In addition to these four episodes, two additional episodes of Enormous Blunders of World War II are included: The Battle of the Bulge and A Bridge Too Far.

DISC TEN:

Great Blunders of World War II – Fragment 2

A continuation of the material on disc nine.

Japan’s Mistakes at Midway: On June 4, 1942, the fanatical and efficient Japanese war machine wanted to accomplish off the U.S. Pacific Like A Flash, but their blind arrogance and underestimation of American willpower led them to grief instead.

The Failure of the Kamikaze: Steeped in the venerable code of the Samurai, Kamikaze forces on land, sea, and air sacrificed themselves in battle in a desperate boom for victory that spelled ultimate doom for the Japanese Empire.

Death at Stalingrad: In Hitler’s quest to recall Stalingrad at all costs, he underestimated both the Russian winter and the steadfastness of the Russian people in the face of the Nazi threat.

Operation Sea Lion: In the wake of the British army’s flight from France, the British were all but beaten. But a Nazi invasion of England was inexplicably postponed, diverting definite triumph and ultimately leading to the Allied victory.

In addition to these four episodes, two additional episodes of Titanic Blunders of World War II are included: The Bomb Position to End Hitler and The Scattering of Convoy PQ17.

I was jubilant to witness a unique “supersized” history of WWII box position advance to DVD, and being a superfan of this subject bought it. I wasn’t expecting a lot of novel footage but I view perhaps a novel perspective would be refreshing.

I’m panicked disappointed is an understatement in describing how I felt while watching it… “War Chronicles” (Mort Zimmerman) was never my current of the WWII documentaries, and this box space is built entirely on these old-fashioned reels.

Patrick O’Neal’s issue drones on like the engines of a tired aged bomber on a long hasten to the heart of Germany. You hear dinky else but his narration over the canned sound effects through the entire series.

I was particularly amazed at the lack of footage devoted to England and the Battle of Britain. Literally a couple of minutes!

A far better choice would be the “BBC History of World War II”, The “Definitive History of WWII” (Brentwood), “Visions of War” (Southern Star/IMAVision), or “The World at War” box sets.

If you aloof wish to have this box site, there will be plenty of very slightly worn copies available very cheap, very soon!

Diana Krall and company do it again! Another graceful live performance we can experience again and again on DVD. The musical selections are very well recorded and nicely arranged. The group’s generally laid-back mood is definitely in sync with this Brazilian-inspired concert. The instrumental improvisations are polished and very musical and Diana’s vocals will transport you to Rio.

To those pseudo-techie critics, I recommend you pull your heads out of your iPods and really listen to the wonderful performances here. As a life-long jazz musician myself, I have better ears and probably better electronics than most of you. I score no basis for your negative reviews. As the witty Moze Allison once wrote, “Critics… they can’t swim and they can’t even float. They honest stand at the shore and waive at the boat.”

Pay no attention to the “amateur idea havers” and blog-trogs. This is an exceptional Diana Krall concert and DVD recording. If you like her work, you’ll probably like this video.

This is the first time I’ve written a review, but I honest don’t agree with the other reviews here.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Diana Krall: Live in Rio! Click Here

I am a expansive Diana Krall fan or perhaps I should say was a expansive fan, because after buying both Smooth Nights and Live in Rio, I’m starting to reexamine my place.

I have all her early CD’s as well as Live in Paris, which I’ve watched at least 50 times. I should status that I don’t care for her newer CD’s, but her rendition of the American Songbook songs are fine.

However, Live in Rio was a disappointment. Though it outmoded the same artists as Live in Paris, it lacked the energy and creativity of Live in Paris, and I expected to leer the passion of the environment that spawned the Bossa Nova rythms that seemed to imbue her earlier work.

Finally, the quality of the lighting and camera work was not even in the same league as Live in Paris. The Blue Ray (which I purchased) was great worse than the standard DVD of Live in Paris.

In summary, nice but not the Diana I came to worship. Uninspired!!!

“Odds Against Tomorrow” was recommended to me by Netflix, based on some of the other films I rented recently. I had never even heard of the film before but am happy that I saw it.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Odds Against Tomorrow! Click Here

Dave Burke (Ed Begley, “12 Indignant Men”), a disgraced worn cop now living in a dingy one-bedroom apartment, asks Earle Slater (Robert Ryan, “The Professionals”), a bigoted white Southerner recently moved to Recent York, to meet him. Earle is anxious to fetch some money of his own; he doesn’t want to depend on his girlfriend (Shelly Winters) for financial wait on. Dave’s notion is to hold a bank in Melton, a puny town in upstate Modern York. He assures Earle that the concept is foolproof, like snatching candy from a baby, and will salvage each of them at least $50,000. (The film was made in 1958.) Earle doesn’t want to have anything to do with it. Dave then meets with the other member of the group, Johnny (Harry Belafonte), a singer with a petite jazz group. After hearing the idea, Johnny also passes. But events in the lives of Earle and Johnny conspire against them, forcing them to capture allotment. When they meet, racial conflicts arise threatening the job and their lives.

Directed by Robert Wise (“The Day The Earth Stood Unruffled”, “The Sound of Music”), “Odds Against Tomorrow” is not really the crime drama it is billed as, which is a surprise and benefits the film greatly. Almost two thirds of the film is about the lives of the two central characters, Earle and Johnny. Because so great time is devoted to them, we really secure a sense of who they are, we fetch to know them, and they become precise.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Odds Against Tomorrow! Click Here

The film was produced by Harbel Productions, a production company owned by Harry Belafonte. It is easy to witness why he was so keen in the project. Produced in the slack 50s, “Tomorrow” uses the record of a bank robbery as a vehicle to affirm the myth of two men and their racial conflict. This seems a more effective map of getting the message across; gradually introducing it, creating characters, letting their conflict seep into the storyline. So often, films with `morals’ or `messages’ plot these all encompassing, beating the viewer over the head. Believe benefit to your school days. If a teacher assigned a book like “To End A Mockingbird” to you, it probably felt like you had to struggle through every word. If you discovered it on your have, you probably realized what an outstanding fraction of literature it is. The same is proper of film, perhaps even more so. If we luxuriate in the film, the tale, the setting, are eager in the characters, we are probably more likely to preserve any messages or morals the film might be trying to state.

Earle is the first person we meet and he immediately uses a racial slur. This is unsightly and unexpected, more so because of the delivery and the circumstances, robbing the scene of artificial theatricality. Ryan’s portrayal of Earle is very interesting; on the one hand, he is a deeply bigoted man, on the other; he is in a very dysfunctional relationship. The dysfunctional relationship with his girlfriend, Lorry (Shelly Winters) balances out the occasional outbursts his character displays.

After we meet Earle and Lorry, we examine how their relationship works. She is desperate to like him, but recognizes that he is also flawed. She wants him to have the independence a job and an income of his gain would grant him. But since he doesn’t, she isn’t above asking him to occupy up her dress at the dry cleaners. She is working a job and he isn’t. Why shouldn’t he benefit out with the errands? There is also a next door neighbor (Gloria Graham), a lonely woman who flirts incessantly with Earle.

Johnny (Belafonte) is also created with a vividness we often don’t look in films. A member of a jazz combo, there is almost a feeling that if he didn’t have all of the extraneous influences on his life he might be a distinguished singer. (Gee, that’s a stretch.) But Belafonte brings a level-headed earnestness to the role which helps the character become three dimensional. Johnny is divorced, but smooth very mighty in cherish with his wife, and calm very enthusiastic in her life due to their daughter. He spends as powerful time with his daughter as possible, taking her to parks, merry go rounds, the like. He loves his ex-wife, but is a petite bothered by her attempts to become assimilated with the mostly white PTA of their daughter’s school. Their relationship is difficult, but it is evident that each detached holds feelings for the other.

As Johnny’s life becomes influenced by elements at the nightclub, everything becomes increasingly unsettled; he is an alcoholic, using liquor to quell his problems, he is a gambler, always hoping for the next horse to collect sizable, to determine his loses. But his bookie becomes anxious and this ends up working to Johnny’s disadvantage.

After we expend a distinguished amount of time with each of the characters, we can discover the noose tightening around each of their necks, forcing them to buy piece in Dave’s idea.

When they eventually acquire the waddle to Melton, the film becomes a more musty heist film. This fraction also works well because Wise takes huge effort to get the setting and status very realistic. We have all seen exiguous towns like Melton and know of the ample central bank, where all of the tellers know all of the customers. Dave learns of a kink in the system which they intend to consume plump advantage of.

Robert Wise directed some of the most accepted films of our time, yet people aren’t aware of him as considerable as they are aware of other film directors. I judge the key to this is that Wise directed a wide range of films, covering many genres and other directors became noted for concentrating in a particular residence. Wise has directed science fiction (“The Day The Earth Stood Level-headed”), musicals (“West Side Narrative”, “The Sound of Music”), alarm (“The Haunting”, a film and book which both detached give me chills), drama (“Executive Suite”) and of course, crime dramas. Did you know that he started out as a sound editor working on “Top Hat” and “The Glad Divorcee”, two of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers best films? Then he moved on to film editing, working on “Citizen Kane” and “The Pretty Ambersons” with Orson Welles. A heavenly impressive pedigree. It seems a shame that a film director who worked in a variety of genres should be remembered less well because of this. More film directors would abet from working on a series of different films. Wise is a director worth remembering, a director who made a series of very impressive, very memorable films.

“Odds Against Tomorrow” is a forgotten gem. Check it out.

Director Robert Wise is probably most identified with his two Oscar winning musicals, West Side Anecdote and The Sound of Music. Wise’s Odds Against Tomorrow, a 1959 film produced at the kill of the noir cycle should have earned him his first Oscar, but that year Ben Hur’s eleven Academy Awards left runt in the wake of cinematic honors. Odds Against Tomorrow may have been slighted by the Academy and the box office, but it unassumingly remains as one of the first films to address racism towards blacks in American society. Wise’s casting of African American Harry Belafonte as Johnny Ingram and Robert Ryan as the bigot Earl Slater revealed the racial tensions that marked the social undercurrent of the 1950’s. Odds Against Tomorrow may have been an emblematic precursor to the racial violence that exploded into the consciousness of mainstream America during the 1960’s. The film’s state is structured around a planned bank hiest entertaining a retired police detective (Ed Begley), a gambling, jazz musician (Belafonte) and a psychotic loner (Ryan) . The three protagonists are drawn together by the lure of money; each thinking that a spacious gather will erase the haunting failures of their past. Unlike other noir films in which lust, greed, or deception caused a downward spiral for the protagonist, our trio’s well devised idea unravels from within. Earl’s seething malevolence and resentment towards Johnny causes the caper to disintegrate. James Coburn deservedly won an Oscar for his role as an alcoholic, abusive father in Affliction; Ryan’s portrayal of an emotionally unstable, violent, racist is equally great. Noir critics cite the Richard Widmark characterizations of Tommy Udo and Alec Stiles as the most devious, psychotic criminals to shock film audiences; but it is Ryan armed only with a cool gape and a few callous words who could really bring burning hatred to a violent boil. In Odds Against Tomorrow, Ryan’s scenes in the tavern, elevator, and gas position, are but a few glimpses into the mind of an unstable, perilous man. Shelly Winters is cast as the alarmed loner who desperately smothers Earl with savor that is not returned. Gloria Grahame appears as the peculiar apartment neighbor who inexplicably is drawn to the abusive Earl. Director Wise craftfully places characters in scenes that drip with realism. The mob boss, the homosexual henchman, the bartender, the murky elevator operator, and Jonny’s estranged wife perform a multi-dimensional atmosphere that does not distract from the central slump of events. Wise’s camera work is exceptional as he allows viewers fast images of hallways, city streets, and concrete highrises. The opening shot of a fire hydrant on a desolate street corner which is suddenly invaded by wind swept newspaper is chilling. Wise is also not adverse to method his camera away from city settings where noir scenery could easily be captured. Instead he mixes urban concrete and smokey club interiors with panned shots of commence highways and frigid Novemember landscapes dotted with leafless trees. Wise also contrasts the concepts of day and night into the picture’s climax. Not constrained within the limits of shadows, darkness, and night, which report most noir films, Wise utilizes the impending nightfall as a scenic metaphor. Odds Against Tomorrow is one of the greatest noir pictures ever made. It may have been the last exemplar of camouflage noir in American film making.

Her newest DVD, Hurry Away the Pounds Ultimate Collection, is astonishing! As soon as I got it, I couldn’t wait to “derive off the couch” and dig in.

The music is suited, she doesn’t over-talk with her fellow walkers (which can rep annoying on some of her DVD’s) . The cues are right-on, the trail rapidly, and the moves toothsome and not confusing. I honest cherish the 3 miles and the 4 mile walks on this DVD – the three mile also incorporates the exercise of the band (included) while you continue to scurry – the four mile does not spend the band, but you find so worthy of a workout that you don’t need it. The moves are basic – not boosted – and not confusing. You power streak, do knee lifts, kicks, side steps (single and double and some doubles with kick-backs or taps) and kickbacks (and some double kickbacks, which I had never seen before, but, which are blooming easy to do) .

These 4 walks are previously released DVDs, it’s a combination of older workouts,so if you have the 1 Mile with Weighted Balls coast and the 2,3, and 4 Mile WATP Shriek Walks, then you have the workouts.

1 mile come by up & score started – 18 minutes includes warm up and stretch

2 mile brisk walk- 30 minutes – includes warm up and stretch

3 mile advanced walk- 51 minutes -includes warm up and stretch

4 mile tidy challenge- 60 minutes – includes warm up and stretch

There is nothing “Original” about these! I wasted my money on DVDs I already possess! This is my fault, for not being patient, and waiting for the reviews to near out. I like the Weighted ball series, and the WATP Lisp series, and they are first-rate. I don’t reflect, I will be buying anymore of her dvds, they impartial all seem to be repackaged, like with two other dvd sets, that are out now. So if you have been buying her dvds, then you might already acquire them, so read carefully.

They have the same moves, as all her other dvds, except the ride and kick, which objective do some punching, jogging and you have the other dvds. I pick her dvds, fair so I don’t have to survey at the same people and scenery, day in and day out.

It comes with a stretchy band, which is even more of a value, because my 3 mile screech didn’t arrive with one! You will spend the stretchy in the 2 & 3 mile protest. You will need light weights or balls for the 1 mile WATP, and the 4 mile, doesn’t expend any eqipment.

If you don’t already hold this, and you are a unique buyer, then it is a advantageous value for the money, considering I paid around ten to thirteen dollars for each dvd individually, so you can now win all of them for around 10-13 dollars, for all 4. The exercises are fun and doable, and you will accept results.

So, if you contain…2 and 3 mile workouts from her Reveal workouts and the 4 mile from her Voice II workout region, and you hold the 1 mile unique WAP “Salvage Up & Secure Started” which she has on at least three other different DVD sets. Honest don’t acquire the Articulate site, because they are all on here.

If you don’t fill her Remark state, then this would be a ample purchase for you, and will attach you tons of money, too terrible for us who already believe them.

Our chronicle takes location in Fairytale Land, a kingdom populated by every fairytale character you’ve ever met. The balance between suitable and obnoxious is maintained by a wizard (George Carlin) who makes definite that every chronicle follows the book.

The time has near for Cinderella (Sarah Michelle Gellar) to have her fairytale ending. The Prince (named Humperdink. A nod to Princess Bride? Either device, he’s voiced by Patrick Warburton) is hosting a ball on his twenty-first birthday. Cinderella is position to go and descend in fancy, impartial as the anecdote dictates.

This doesn’t sit well with Rick (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) . He’s a servant in the castle and has fallen for the radiant Cinderella. Fighting a abominable case of prince envy, he wonders why he never gets a overjoyed ending.

While all this is happening, the wizard decides to go on vacation and he turns things over to his two assistants, Munk and Mambo (Wallace Shawn and Andy Dick) . Mambo wants to add a bit of variety to the stories while the wizard is away, and the two initiate fighting.

Overhearing their fight is Frieda (Sigourney Weaver) . She’s Cinderella’s sinister step mother. She seizes the golden opportunity to retract over the kingdom and tip the scales toward sinister. Now it’s up to Cinderella and a very reluctant Rick to return cheerful endings to Fairytale Land.

I’m always up for a qualified fractured fairytale, a genre that has become accepted since the success of Shrek. I was looking forward to this one, but it failed to live up to expectations.

The biggest predicament with the movie is the lack of development. Everything felt rushed, like it knew what it had to do and wanted to procure it over with as posthaste as possible. The characters were also shallow, and I never felt like I got to know them, which made it hard to root for them.

There were a few comic lines in the movie, but most of it was played surprisingly straight. The Prince was the one exception, with a sizable running joke about consulting his book before everything.

This isn’t the detailed animation we are ancient to. It’s stylized with lots of irregular angels. It works, but considering what most studios are putting out, it is a bit surprising.

The hiss cast does grand, with one exception. There was something about Sigourney Weaver’s advise that bothered me. It almost felt like she reading the script with. She showed hardly any personality.

Unlike many films that adults and kids can delight in together, this one is strictly for the kids.

What I found captivating about “Happily N’Ever After” was its willingness to turn classic fairy tales upside down. What if the princess doesn’t wind up with the comely prince? What if Sleeping Beauty remains asleep after Prince Charming kisses her? What if Rupunzel’s golden hair caused more problems than it actually solves? We rarely peek this kind of intentional manipulation when it comes to fairy tales, and that made this film a lot more palatable. It helps that it has a prominent sense of humor, making it delightfully light and airy. I was reminded of Disney’s “The Emperor’s Novel Groove” as I was watching “Happily N’Ever After”; both are films that depended on their heavy-handed jokiness in order to be engaging.

Fortunately, this plot worked in both cases. While this film isn’t exactly meaningful or relevant, it’s mild tells a droll, good-hearted legend. The jokes open almost as soon as the film begins; an irascible woman waves a magic staff, shooting lightening into the air. Honest as the lightening forms the letters of the film’s title, the reel stops, exposing the celluloid’s square holes. That’s when the story’s narrator tells a joke, of which I only remember an announcement to depart a vehicle with Narnia license plates. After that, the benefit yarn is established: in Fairy Account Land, The Wizard (George Carlin) is in charge of maintaining the balance between worthy and wrong in all fairy tales. Basically, he makes clear that every account ends the plot it’s supposed to destroy, with the princesses getting saved by the princes and everyone living happily ever after.

The Wizard goes on vacation, leaving his assistants–Munk (Wallace Shawn) and Mambo (Andy Dick) –in charge of his control room located in the top tower of The Prince’s castle. I liked the layout: in the center rests a colossal crystal ball that acts like a television region (with a remote control, I might add) ; above it are the precious Good/Evil scales. Bored with the same, predictable fairy tales, Mambo finds the concept of tipping those scales increasingly appealing; he wants to peep edgier fairy tales, ones that may be turned into something modern. Munk, on the other hand, is trusty and spruce, and will not stand to have his dimwitted co-assistant destroy everything for everyone.

Meanwhile, we’re introduced to the narrator: his name is Rick (Freddie Prinze Jr.), the lowly servant to the splendid but clueless Prince (Patrick Warburton), who obsessively reads a rulebook and follows its every concept. Rick’s working day is no picnic. He washes The Prince’s dishes. He shines The Prince’s boots. He even flosses The Prince’s teeth. Such dreadful daily routines have turned Rick a bit world weary; stories ending with a prince saving the day doesn’t necessarily develop him the most safe for the job. Rick may have a thing or two to offer a damsel, especially when it comes to the comely Ella, nicknamed Cinderella (Sarah Michelle Gellar) . Unfortunately, Ella is too blindsided by her savor for The Prince to peruse Rick for who he really is.

As we all know, Cinderella lives the life of a slave in the home of her stepmother, Frieda (Sigourney Weaver), and her repulsive stepsisters. It’s announced that The Prince is throwing a ball, and every eligible maiden is required to support. Being the inappropriate, testy person she is, Frieda purposely overworks Ella, giving her no time to rep ready for the ball. But, lo and seek, the fairy godmother shows up, ready to back Ella out in her time of need (in this version, the fairy godmother is made to be a bit senile: “I’m here to grant your wish to become a right boy,” she says when she first arrives, paving the blueprint for a couple of other verbal goofs) . Once she arrives at the ball, she’s given the warning that the magic will only last until midnight.

Yes, we’ve definitely heard this sage before. But believe the moment when Frieda arrives at The Prince’s castle; she overhears Munk and Mambo’s shenanigans (highlighted by Mambo’s approach disastrous encounter with the crystal ball) and decides to engage matters into her acquire hands. It now seems that every fairy myth will have recent endings, ones that don’t ruin happily. This is because Frieda manages to earn The Wizard’s magical staff, giving her control over Fairy Memoir Land (this is actually where the film began) . She then watches the stories unfold on the crystal ball, and when the endings come, she forcefully tips the Deplorable scale. This is also done to Ella, who up until then had been having a wonderfully romantic evening with The Prince (the instant her ball gown transforms aid into humble peasant clothing, The Prince immediately believes that his maiden has hurry off) .

Thus begins fight to keep Fairy Epic Land from an eternity of discouraged endings. But it won’t be easy: Frieda has called forth all the fairy narrative villains, including the Tremendous Awful Wolf, Rumplestiltskin (who becomes her sidekick), the giant from “Jack and the Beanstalk,” witches, and goblins. Ella is convinced that The Prince is the only one who will be able to do the day; that is, after all, how it works in all fairy tales. But Rick knows better, especially when it comes to The Prince and his ridiculous sense of superiority. He decides to join Ella, Muck, and Mambo in their quest to set their world and defeat the outrageous Frieda. If they bustle, maybe happily ever after will once again be the norm for fairy tales.

Such a set description must cement my claim that there’s nothing relevant about this film. “Happily N’Ever After” is an escapist film, presenting a fable that’s easily understood and free from depth or complexity. I’m not positive why I found such qualities enjoyable; I’m usually the first to condemn a film for being overly simplistic. Maybe I was taken by the over the top sense of humor, such as the reinterpretation of the Seven Dwarfs as militant survivalists. Maybe I recognized the inside joke of The Wizard’s passion for golf; George Carlin has been vocal in his hatred of that sport. Or maybe I was generally in a favorable mood. Nonetheless, I’ll recommend “Happily N’Ever After,” even if it’s only for the light subject matter.

A New Way to Save Time: Online Computer Repair

By vikram kumar

One of the worst things that can happen to your computer is for it to break down. Even when the problem is not a major one, you might feel that you do not have many options. Most people believe they have to take the computer to some place that can look at the problem and fix it for them. However, when you take it somewhere, it is unlikely that you will get it back quickly. If you decide to call the manufacturer of the computer, most of them will be glad to explain how to restore your computer to its original factory settings. When you do this, you lose everything you have installed or have created since you first started up the computer. One option you may not have considered is to try online computer repair.

What is online computer repair? This type of repair is simply a form of remote computer repair. You often will be able to connect to the Internet even if you are having some type of problem. You call a number on the site and a technician will have you click on certain sections of the website. Now the company can do an online computer repair from a distance without you having to go anywhere at all. If you watch the screen, you often will see the mouse move around as the technician works to fix the problem. It is kind of like giving the technician the power of a remote control. The technician is much more knowledgeable and can move around to fix the problem quicker than telling you step-by-step what to click or type. Remote computer repair is a great way to save time!

Even some of the major manufacturers are experimenting with this type of technology to help customers fix problems. Unfortunately, the manufacturer of the computer does not guarantee problems that you might have with third-party software. Third-party software or hardware is something you bought from someone else and installed on the computer after you purchased it. Something as simple as a graphics editing program or even a way to check your email can sometimes cause a problem. These problems are often referred to as conflicts. Online computer repair can allow someone who is more knowledgeable about these types of problems to conduct remote computer repair.

The more information that you can provide to the experts that do online computer repair, the better the professionals can help to resolve the problem. Do not ignore the errors and little problems that pop up for too long because they often become bigger problems that can eventually keep you from doing anything at all on the system. Using this new type of help can allow you to get the computer up and running without having to be without your system for many days. It is difficult to get anything done if you do not have your computer to work with. Consider online computer repair the next time something goes wrong with your desktop or laptop.

No one should have to be alone when a computer breaks down and requires repair. You can try remote computer repair when you visit Repair PC where experts can use online computer repair methods to solve your problems.

The Horse Soldiers Streaming

The Horse Soldiers Streaming. The Horse Soldiers Streaming.

Movie Title: The Horse Soldiers
Average customer review:

The Horse Soldiers is available for streaming or downloading.

Click Here to Stream or Download The Horse Soldiers

A incredible characterize of the war between the states, “Horse Soldiers” follows the anecdote of Wayne leading his troopers in an attack deep into enemy territory. Loosely based on a apt event, the Union must lop off the supply lines to Vicksburg. DUKE leads the raid.

This is a incredible transfer, as others have mentioned. I spotted literally one damaged frame, with a “V” shaped crease in it. The colors blaze off the screeen, and although there are no booklets, inserts, or extras (other than the recent trailer), the disc is a accurate keeper.

Although many glance this represent as “Ford-lite,” there are several classic Ford touches throughout the film. The opening shot of the calvary marching in a sundown silhouette is stirring. The charge of the child soldiers is a big moment (you ogle Wayne tip his hat to them as he rides off) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Horse Soldiers! Click Here

For me, I like the subtle, “hidden” Ford touches in all of his films, which teach telling information about characters without the overbearing, in-your-face, and unbiased unimaginative heavy-handed direction in today’s movies.

In “Horse Soldiers”, the dyed-in-the-wool Southern patriot Hannah Hunter has spent several days as prisoner of the Union soldiers. At one point, in order to manufacture her feel better, a soldier gives her a candle for light. Another offers her a portion of a looking glass. The soldier holds up the broken mirror, and when she looks at her reflection she can discover the soldier’s Yankee cap over the top of it, as if she wore it herself. That’s Ford telling us she’s been converted, without slapping us in the face or dumbing it down for us.

You’ll spy familiar Ford faces pop up here and there, too. Jack Pennick is in fair about all of John Ford’s westerns. Hank Worden and Ken Curtis will be instantly familiar to fans of “The Searchers”. Ken Curtis was also in “Rio Grande” and “The Detached Man”, and is probably best known as Festus on “Gunsmoke”.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Horse Soldiers! Click Here

O.Z. Whitehead was in “The Grapes of Wrath” and “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”. Walter Reed was in “Sergeant Rutledge” and “Cheyenne Autumn”.

Bing Russell, who plays Dunker, is the man gunned down in the saloon in another DUKE movie, “Rio Bravo”.

Of couse, other familiar faces include Storther Martin and Denver Pyle as a pair of Confederate deserters.

This is a really solid cavalry film, with The DUKE in the thick of the action. William Holden is a trustworthy match as a foil for DUKE.

For those who say DUKE couldn’t act, DUKE has a spacious scene in the Newton Location bar when he reveals why he doesn’t like doctors.

“Horse Soldiers” is an overlooked gem from Ford, only because his more illustrious films shine that distinguished more.

I am an unabashed fan of John Wayne movies from “Stagecoach” to “The Shootist.” Among them all, “The Horse Soldiers” is my personal current.

John Ford captures, in shimmering, robust color, the pageantry of the Union and Confederate cavalries. With flags flying, horses pounding, and bugles blaring, Ford and Wayne obtain sheer movie entertainment. The musical earn by David Buttolph perfectly captures the varying moods of the film and complements the stirring visual images. From “I Left My Admire” to the “Bonnie Blue Flag,” the music accents the film’s emotions. William Holden and Constance Towers are well-cast as Wayne’s nemesis. The supporting cast is bolstered with many Wayne regulars, including Ken Curtus (Festus from “Gunsmoke”) .

Many criticize the true inaccuracies in John Wayne films. So what! He didn’t intend to create documentaries, he intended to perform rousing, enchanting movies. I will always contain this was his best…

I am a substantial fan of Gundam, watched (unexcited watching) almost all UC-Gundam series (0079, 0080, 0083, MS 08 team, Z, ZZ, Nu, F91) . This DVD pack is a blessing to me, having most major movie versions. The portray quality is nice, they did a enormous job. The only thing: I wish Miller’s describe had been replaced with 0083 movie, for MS 08 team is kind of ’side story’ and the storyline is a runt different from the others. But detached this is the best DVD pack I ever bought. Second the only thing: there is no English audio track in 3 0079’s. Japanese audio+English subtitle.

News: another UC gundam is being released soon. Go youtube and gain ‘Unicorn Gundam’ promotion clips. The mecha designs and storyline seem authentic UC Gundam’s.

This movie pack collects all 5 UC (Universal Century) Gundam Movies in a brick case. Being a brick case, there is no individual artwork covers and inserts. You only secure the 5 discs in a thick case with the conceal depicted above.

This movie pack was released in slow 2004 for a tiny hasten, mainly to cash in the holiday seasons. It is no longer available once it’s sold out.
